Carlo Montagner

Chief Executive Officer

Global medical and pharmaceutical executive Carlo Montagner founded Specialised Therapeutics in Australia in 2007 following a successful international career holding senior roles at some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies in the United States, Europe, China, Japan and Australia.

He is a former Vice President of Abraxis Bioscience Inc and a former Global Head of Bayer-Schering Oncology. He also served as a Global Team Leader of Sanofi-Aventis Oncology and a Hospital Business Unit Head of Aventis Australia, as well as serving as a Director of the Hospital Business Unit at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer.

Under Carlo’s leadership, Specialised Therapeutics has successfully commercialised nine speciality products spanning oncology, haematology, supportive care, emerging as the largest independent pharma company in Australia.

Carlo holds a Master of Science (Psychology) from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

Bozena Zembrzuski

Co-Founder and Human Resources Director

Specialised Therapeutics Co-Founder and Human Resources Director, Bozena Zembrzuski, is a published molecular biologist and highly experienced pharmaceutical executive. She is a former Director of CNS Business Development with global pharmaceutical giant Novartis in the United States and has also held a range of senior management roles with Novartis Australia.

Bozena holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Biological Sciences from Latrobe University in Melbourne, Australia.

Our medical department spans Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, working closely with clinicians across diverse therapy areas to ensure patients can access our specialist therapies. Quality & Technical Operations

Our highly experienced quality and operations team ensures stringent standards are met when supplying our specialist medicines throughout Australia, New Zealand and across Southeast Asia. We are licensed to operate in Australia by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and in Singapore by the Health Sciences Authority.

Commercial

Several years ago, we made the decision to no longer incentivise or financially reward our in-field representatives based on sales targets, or the volume of speciality medicines prescribed by their customers. At the time, this was a first for the pharmaceutical industry. Our primary goal is to deliver accurate and relevant information about our therapies and build mutually rewarding relationships with our customers.

Regulatory Affairs

Our regulatory team is the ‘engine room’ of our company and our people have been highly successful navigating complex regulatory and reimbursement submissions in diverse and nuanced markets. We have deep expertise throughout Australia, New Zealand and across Southeast Asia, ensuring eligible patients have access to our therapies at the earliest opportunity.

Living with GIST

ST is committed to making a difference for patients impacted by a range of cancers. Melbourne Mum Renee shared her experience after being diagnosed with a rare gastrointestinal stromal tumour, or GIST.

A Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Mother of three, Susie Nassour, was diagnosed with breast cancer just days before her 50th birthday. She had a 25 mm tumour and cancer was detected in one of her lymph nodes. She was keen to avoid chemotherapy, if possible.
